DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) - The state fire marshal is investigating an arson case in Douglas.

The Douglas fire and police departments were called to a house fire at 210 East Leon Street Thursday. The front of the home was fully involved when they arrived.

Investigators later said the fire appeared to have been deliberately set while that family was still in the home.

The cause or motive of that fire is still under investigation. Luckily, the husband and wife along with their young child were able to escape unharmed.
