ALBANY, GA (WALB) - There's a little more room at one downtown Albany restaurant. Subway cut the ribbon on the expansion of its downtown location Friday morning.

The additional seating includes a TV and a fireplace. The restaurant also hired four new employees. The owner hopes the new space will bring in new customers.

Owner DeLyn Smith said, "Tremendous, Tremendous, because we would lose some business because we didn't have enough seating and now that we have the seating everyone can come in at lunch and sit down and take their hour. Watch a little TV, sit in front of the fireplace. It will be great."

The layout and style of the restaurant is the first of its type in the country.
