BLAKELY, GA (WALB) - The peanut processor at the center of a nationwide salmonella outbreak has nearly 11.4 million dollars in assets.

Peanut Corporation of America shut down their Blakely plant in January along with two other facilities and filed for Chapter seven bankruptcy last month.

They'll be in court next week in Virginia for the first hearing that will liquidate the company's assets, including the Blakely plant.

More than 475 businesses have filed claims against the company.

14 lawsuits have also been filed against the company in relation to the salmonella outbreak that sickened more than 600 and led to one of the nations largest product recalls.
