Titans win overtime thriller at the GJCAA tournament

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -  One week after a loss to Coastal Georgia cost  Albany Tech the third seed in the conference tournament, the Titans got their revenge with a 104-103 overtime win over the Mariners in the opening round of the GJCAA tournament at South Georgia Tech in Americus.

DeJuan Shannon gave Albany State a two point lead with a basket with five seconds to play.

Coastal's Antonio Tribble was fouled trying to tie the game with a layup at the buzzer.

Tribble made the first free throw but his miss with .9 seconds left sends the Titans into the semifinals.

Truett O'Neal lead Albany State with 27 points and Shannon finished with 18.

Coastal Georgia hit 15 three point baskets in this game with Paul Finn knocking down six treys to finish with 23 points for the Mariners.

Albany Tech will play #1 seed South Georgia Tech in Friday's semifinals.

South Georgia Tech held off upset minded Gordon College 70-58.

In the other games, #6 Truett-McConnell upset Middle Georgia 61-58 and will play Georgia Perimeter in the other semifinal.

Georgia Perimeter beat Atlanta Metro 66-57.
