MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - A man was killed after a hit and run in Moultrie, but police say the driver involved may not have known that they hit him.

46-year-old Francisco Tapia was found dead on Circle Road about a half a mile of Georgia 111. Colquitt County deputies and State Troopers were called there a little before 4:00 AM Saturday morning.

Authorities believe for some reason Tapia may have been lying on the road when he was hit because there was no debris from the collision.

Anyone with any information on this case should to call the Colquitt County Sheriff's Department at 229-616-7470 or call Georgia State Patrol.
