ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Darton wrestling season will cap off a sensational first year of competition this weekend at the national junior college meet.
The reason why the Cavs first season has been sensational is seven of the team's nine members have qualified for the national meet. The team members are Sam Spradlin, Nathan Allen, Darius Pittman, Marcus Allen, Gio Graham, Andrew Boley and Kelvin Jordan.
Those seven and the rest of the Darton team has also won 8 of 15 dual matches many coming against four year schools.
Darton coach Josh Watts is confident this first season can end with one or more of his wrestlers coming home with national titles.
Darton wrestling coach Josh Watts said. "I think that any of my guys have a shot at going deep. If they show up, they perform and don't get first round jitters at the national tournament."
The NJCAA national wrestling meet starts Friday in Rochester, Minnesota.
