ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Heritage Bank is leaving Leesburg to be closer to where the county's growth is happening.
The bank announced Wednesday their new site will be along Forrester Parkway. That puts Heritage Bank within a two mile radius of several large residential subdivisions and in a more convenient location to serve both residential and commercial customers.
"If you think about it, 89% of Lee County residents come in to Albany to work, play, live, shop and everything, once a day, at least once a day they're traveling into Albany. This will put them on the right side of the road so they can get in and get out and get what they need on a timely basis," said Mary Beth Hobby, HeritageBank of the South.
During construction of the Forrester Crossing Branch, Lee County customers will be redirected to the HeritageBank branch on Slappey Boulevard, just north of the Liberty Expressway. The Leesburg branch will close May 29th.
