VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A gas main leak shut down a busy Valdosta intersection this morning. Around 9:30, a contractor for the city accidentally sliced into a 4-inch gas main at St. Augustine Road and River Street.
The Valdosta Fire Department responded immediately and secured the area. The intersection was barricaded.
Atlanta Gas Light arrived on site quickly to shut the gas off. It took several hours to repair the busted gas main, but officials say the problem has been corrected.
