ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An East Albany convenience store owner says he thought he was a dead man when three gunmen robbed his store.
Chilling Surveillance video shows one of the robbers aiming his gun at the store owner's head.
The robbery happened about 9:30 Tuesday night at the Liberty Food Mart on East Oglethorpe.
Two of the robbers jumped the counter, knocking over a cigarette rack. They forced owner Sonny Patel to open the cash register. After one robber takes the cash drawer, the other points his pistol at the store owner.
Patel just sat down on the floor, and he told us he thinks that is why the gunman did not shoot. The robbers also hit Patel's wife on the head with a pistol. She had to have stitches for the wound.
"That time we scared," said Patel. "First time people came inside with guns. So we scared that time."
All the men are about 20-years-old. Two of them wore masks. They all had sun glasses and hats or hoodies. If you have any information about these violent armed robbers, you could earn a reward.
