CORDELE, GA (WALB) - Two suspected drug dealers are now charged with murdering a man in a shootout on a city street in Cordele last week.

Monday, Cordele Police and the GBI arrested 36-year-old Virgil Christopher and 36-year-old Rongee Reese for the murder of 22-year-old Eli Jones.  They're also charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Jones was gunned down at the corner of 13th Street and 23rd Avenue last Wednesday night.

Christopher was also shot.  He's out of the hospital now.  He and Reese are now in the Crisp County Detention center.

Police say they may make more arrests in the case.
