CORDELE, GA (WALB) - A Cordele woman admits she killed her husband a year and a half ago.

44-year old Vanessa Simpson pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in Crisp County Superior Court.

Police found 35-year-old Jermaine Jimmerson in the back yard of his home on 20th Avenue dead from stab wounds.

The couple had a history of domestic violence.

Simpson was sentenced to five years in prison and 10 years of probation. Simpson did receive credit for the time she has served so far awaiting the trial.
