THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A weekend of hard work is paying off. Great strides have been made with Thomas County's recovery effort after hundreds of homes were hit hard by Wednesday night's storm.

Every home that was able to get power had it restored as of 7:00 PM Saturday night. And most of the debris left on the side of roads have been picked up.

Public work crews are now asking residents to be patient with any new debris they need to have picked up. They say it may take some time before they get another chance to go back around.

Sunday the American Red Cross continued to provide food and refreshments to all who were working in the clean-up efforts.

Anyone who still needs help collecting debris from their properties can go to the First Southern Baptist Church to sign up to have a crew assist them.
