VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta State pulls out a thrilling 83-76 double-overtime win over West Alabama Thursday.
The victory clinches a berth in the Gulf South Conference tournament for the Blazers who are 7-3 in the GSC and 19-5 overall.
The Blazers thought they won the game with Ricardo Lewis basket with .5 seconds remaining gave VSU a two point lead.
The Blazers were hit with a technical foul with the bench rushing the court and the Lions Jamaine Nance hit both free throws.
The Valdosta State women had a easier time in their 62-40 win over West Alabama.
Scenzy Hartry led the Lady Blazers with 15 points.
Valdosta State teams hosts Montevallo Saturday in a doubleheader that begins at 6:00 p.m..
