Sale City - Two former city and fire officials of Sale City are arrested for stealing money from the Sale City volunteer fire department.

Former Sale City Mayor and Fire Chief, 38-year-old Charles Burch and the former City Clerk and Fire Department Treasurer, 55-year old Judy Howell, turned themselves in Friday.

GBI agents say Burch and Howell are both charged with one count of theft by taking for stealing more than five-hundred dollars.

They are being held in the Mitchell County Jail.
