ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Drug agents raid a home on West Broad Avenue Wednesday afternoon, arresting two men and seizing a large amount of marijuana.
Acting on a tip from the neighborhood, about 3 O-clock agents with the Albany Dougherty Drug Unit and the District Attorney's Office and SWAT officers raided this home in the
18-hundred block of West Broad Avenue. They found a half pound of marijuana in small packages,....worth about 25-hundred dollars on the street. 24 year old Vernon Harris was arrested, along with a man refusing to give his identity. They are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and intent to distribute drugs within one thousand feet of a school.
Dougherty District Attorney Greg Edwards said "If you have drug sales going on in your community, please contact the Dougherty County Drug Unit or contact the D.A. office. We will try to help you. We want you to help us clean up your neighborhoods."
Police say a man in a red Pontiac sped away from the home across neighboring yards when the raid started. Investigators know who the driver is, and will take warrants for his arrest.
