ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Trevor Hohorst, a senior at Lee County High School, made a perfect score on the math portion of the SAT to become STAR student.

Hohorst chose english teacher Robby Davis as his STAR teacher. The award recognizes students in schools across the state demonstrate exceptional academic achievement by scoring highest in their graduating class on the SAT.

"When I was taking the test, my goal was just to do really well on it," said Hohorst. "And I wanted to do really well on the math portion especially, because that's my strong point. But when I found out, I was very happy about it."

"It's a wonderful feeling to know that what you've done in your classroom has resonated in particularly special way with a student. That's a wonderful feeling,"  said Lee County STAR teacher Robby Davis.

Hohurst says he plans to major in computer science and has narrowed his college choices to Clemson, Georgia, and Georgia Tech. This is the ninth time Robby Davis, an AP English teacher at LCHS, has been chosen STAR teacher.
