QUITMAN, GA (WALB) - Thursday, Brooks County High Schools held a career fair that was intended to help more than just the students. Brooks County opened their doors to the community today.
Students and citizens alike had the opportunity to meet with representatives from over forty local businesses and schools.
Organizers hoped the event would be helpful to those who have been laid-off. Many companies had applications on-hand for job-seekers.
"This particular activity provides the opportunity for kids and adults to see who is hiring because there is such an economic downturn--and to see what they need to do to be employable," says CTAE Director, Sharon Cunningham.
Ashley Reynolds, a Brooks County Senior says, "There are a lot of people unemployed. You have Wild Adventures and they have applications out here."
This year, Brooks County had more representatives than ever before. The fair was held today in honor of Careers, Technology, Agricultural, and Engineering Week.
