ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Lee County man charged with kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and child faced a judge for the first time Thursday morning.
Twenty-three year old Shane Fletcher was led into the courtroom at the Dougherty County Jail with his head still bandaged. Police say 21-year old Quintabitha Mitchell hit him in the head with a hammer he used to carjack her.
Fletcher was arrested Wednesday at the Camilla Inn where police say he held Mitchell and their one-year-old son captive after kidnapping them on the Liberty Expressway Wednesday morning. The mother and child are OK.
Charges against Fletcher include kidnapping, aggravated assault, and Vehicular Hijacking. He remains in jail without bond.
