Valdosta - Lowndes High ROTC instructors Master Sergeant Bruce Minnick and Lieutenant Dean Failor were selected for the award honoring superior program management, student success, and accomplishment of program objectives.

"It's an honor to receive this award because its not only a reflection of us, but also our students, the program, and the entire faculty here," said Failor.

ROTC students say their instructors are very deserving of the awards. "They're like second parents to us," said Brittany Falkenhausen. "They listen to us when we need to talk and teach us everything we need to know."

Lowndes High's ROTC unit is considered one of the best in the state and nation, receiving top ratings every year since 1993.
