ALBANY, GA (WALB) - About 7:15 this morning, the Southbound lane of US 19 was blocked when a three-vehicle accident occurred, involving a Dougherty County school bus, a tractor-trailer, and a van.

The school bus had stopped to pick up children, and the semi had also come to a full stop behind the school bus.

Delmar Ortiz-Aguilar was driving a van with four passengers, and didn't see the stopped traffic ahead.

To avoid hitting the semi, he hit the shoulder of the road, but also side-swiped the semi, and rear-ended the school bus.

None of the children on the school bus were injured. They were transported to another bus and then taken to school.

The driver of the semi was not injured; however, there were injuries in the van and passengers were transported to the Phoebe.

Dougherty County Police charged Delmar Ortiz-Aguilar with driving while unlicensed, following too closely, and reckless driving, and is now the DOCO jail.
