Monroe's Williams plans to make a fine 'Gent

  One day after teammate Demetric Bennett committed to sign a scholarship with Southern Methodist University, Monroe High center Troy Williams announced he is heading to Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana.

   The 6'9" Williams says he picked Centenary because of the school's emphasis on academis.

   Williams also has the chance to play right away for the "Gents" who join the Mid-Continent conference next season.

    As a junior, Troy Williams averaged 11 points, 9 rebounds and two blocks per game for the Tornadoes.

    The fall signing period will begin on November 13th.
