ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Worth County man burned as he tried to escape a house fire has been released from the hospital.

Chester Williams was released from the Augusta Burn Center Sunday night.

Williams was trying to get out of his burning home at 2513 Highway 82 West Saturday morning.

He was rushed to Phoebe Putney and later taken to Augusta.

Two other people were also inside the home at the time of the fire, but both were able to get out safely.

Firefighters still don't know the cause of the fire, but believe it may have started from the meter box at the back of the home.

The home is a total loss.
