Valdosta State running back Aaron Jenkins has been named D2 Football Dot Com's national offensive player of the week for his performance in the Blazers
35-16 win over Central Arkansas.
The junior from Lleary and Calhoun County High School was also named the Gulf South Conference's offensive player of the week after he rushed for more than two hundred yards and had scored two touchdowns against the Bears.
The Blazers, ranked second nationally and number one in the south regional poll, set a new conference record with their 23rd straight regular season win.
Valdosta State hopes to extend that record winning streak to 24 when they host West Alabama Saturday afternoon at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
