ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Southwest Georgians with green thumbs are hosting the Georgia Master Gardener Association Winter Conference in Albany.
The conference starts Saturday.
They hosted a quail dinner at Darton College on Friday night.
Master Gardeners are trained and certified in horticultural and related areas.
In turn, they help others through horticultural projects that benefit the community.
This year's theme is Winter on the Flint.
"We work in conjunction with the local extension agent and often we give talks to local civic groups, but basically it's educational, we're just people who've got a love for gardening," said Jim Spivey, Southwest GA GMGA President.
Well-known naturalist Jim Fowler was the guest speaker on Friday.
Saturday venders will show gardeners what's new in the industry.
The conference ends on Sunday in Fort Valley.
