ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A raid on an apartment on Albany's south side netted two suspected drug dealers.

The district attorney's office got complaints about drug deals at an apartment in the 700 block of Whitney Avenue.

The Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit investigated and arrested Eugene Martin and Demarkco Malone there Thursday afternoon.

Drug agents found a large amount of cocaine in the apartment.

"What we want to do is to make sure the public understands that if they bring us the information we're going to try their best to act on it. You know there is a recession in our economy but there is not recession in drug activity, we're going to be as proactive as we can and if people are out still trying to sell drugs, we're going to deal with them," said Greg Edwards, Dougherty District Attorney.

Charges against the two will include cocaine possession with intent to distribute, and intent to distribute within one thousand feet of a housing project.
