ALBANY, GA (WALB) - More than a dozen paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians are recognized for their life saving skills.

The Dougherty County Commission gave a standing ovation to several emergency workers Monday morning, after hearing just a few examples of times they have made a difference in the lives of patients.

Some were recognized for saving a man from choking, others for bringing someone back to life after they were found not breathing and without a pulse.

"You can't change everything, so you do what you're trained to do, you give it 100%, and when it works out like it should, like you are trained and like it does in the school books, then, you know, it really does feel good. It does feel good to win the battle," said Dougherty Co. EMS Assistant Director Greg Rowe.

The honored paramedics will receive a pin and a certificate for their life saving skills.
