VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - What is supposed to have been a rebuilding year has turned into a short project.
The Lady Blazers have started Gulf South play with a 5-0 record and have won six straight games. The success on the court has earned the VSU women the number four spot in the south regional poll.
The impressive stat in the Lady Blazers perfection GSC record is that three of those conference wins have come on the road.
The margin of victory in those wins was one thin point.
Lady Blazer coach Kiley Hill says is impressed with the poise of his young team.
Kiley Hill said. "They have really have just come on. They are coming to their own. They have met every challenge we have had to throw at them. They have stumbled here and there but they have always been able to bounce back. We are just fortunate to have the opportunity to coach those kids each and every single day."
Valdosta State women will host West Florida at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and the Blazers will play at 4:00 p.m. against the Argonauts.
