VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Florida State offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher knows he will be the head coach at Florida State.

He just doesn't know when.

Fisher knows that wait will continue for another year with Bobby Bowden planning to coach a 34th season in Tallahassee.

The future FSU head coach making a visit to Valdosta to speak at the Lowndes High football banquet.

Fisher's audience included Lowndes defensive back Gerald Demps, an FSU commit and Greg Reid who has the Seminoles on his list of prospective schools.

Recruiting was a big reason why FSU has already named Fisher as their next head coach.

A move that is providing some great on the job training.

Jimbo Fisher said. "Sometimes you get thrown into the fire. I am getting into edged into the fire. I get to help on make good decisions and help on decisions as we go. See how I would handle things knowing and thinking as head coach now. I think it has been very good and our time will come."

Florida State is scheduled to open the 2009 season against Maine but there are negotiations with the ACC to try to play Miami on Labor Day night in Tallahassee.
