ALBANY, GA (WALB) - In this economy everyone is trying to save where they can. And drivers in Southwest Georgia are able to save a few pennies at the gas pump.

The current national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $1.84.

In Albany, drivers are able to fill up for anywhere between a $1.68 and $1.72 per gallon.

Gas prices are up by about 20 cents from a month ago, but are still a lot lower from where they were last year.

One year ago the national average for a gallon was three dollars.
