ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The 18th annual Model Train show and Sale is taking place in Albany this weekend.

Train enthusiasts, collectors, and those who just like locomotives are getting an eye full.

Vendors came from all over the southeast to south Georgia for the event.

But it's more than selling and collecting.

One display by Jim Valdez, is a labor of love and is done in part for the younger admirers.

"Standing on one side of the layout you can here a little kid on the other side saying papa look at this, papa look at that," said Jim Valdez, Flint River Model Railroad Club.

"It's our annual fundraiser, which is for the Flint River Model Railroad Club of Albany. Like I said we promote railroading and the way it use to be," said Jimmy Swann, Flint River Model Railroad Club.

You can start you own collection, a model train set is being raffled for just five dollars.

The Flint River Model Rail Road Club annual fundraiser runs through Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Gillionville Road.
