ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some scary moments Friday afternoon when a five year old boy disappeared from a North Albany neighborhood.
5-year old Rakeem Barnes walked away from his house on 10th Avenue around 1:30PM. Family, neighbors, even police searched high and low, looking inside sheds and under houses.
Thankfully, he was found less than a half hour later, seven blocks away on 3rd Avenue.
Officer Jarda Bradford said, "It makes me feel wonderful because I'm a mother as well as a police officer and we were doing what we could to try and hurry up and get him back as safe as possible."
Police tell us Rakeem apparently went to the bathroom and then wandered out of a side door. He's back home with family.
