ALBANY, GA (WALB) -The board of Directors of the financially struggling Carmike Cinemas has removed Michael Patrick as the corporations chairman and chief executive officer.
Don Passman the third will now serve as the non-executive chairman of Carmike, which owns the Wynnsong Cinemas in Albany.
Patrick was the son of the founder of the motion picture exhibitor who started Martin Theatres in the 1970's. Patrick was promoted to President in 1981. Carmike has struggled financially since entering Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2000.
