ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Students at Live Oak elementary got a patriotic welcome on Inauguration Day.

Teachers arrived at six o'clock Tuesday morning to put flags at the entrance of the school, one for each student. In class, students watched the inauguration. Teachers hope their class will take away an important lesson from Tuesday's events.

"I like him because I think he's smart and he can change some stuff in America and stuff," said Tamiyah Dice, a fifth grader.

"I hope that they take from this the idea that they can accomplish anything. I always tell them that, but I want them to understand if Barack Obama can do it so can they," said Mrs. Daphne Robinson, Like Oak Elementary Teacher.

Teachers say on their level, students have been very interested in the election process.
