Albany- World War II marine veterans visited the Marine Corps Logistics Base Friday.

The veterans, who served aboard the USS Quincy during World War II, toured the Marine base and met active marines. The vets and their families were greeted with music from the Marine Band.

The group served in European campaigns during World War II before being transferred to the Pacific.

These veterans say they are proud they served their country so many years ago. Of the 1,142 men aboard the USS Quincy, forty-one were enlisted marines, two were officers and the rest were sailors.
