VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  Former Worth County Lady Ram Courtney Mitchell has made immediate contributions for the Valdosta State Lady Blazers basketball team.

After seeing spot duty early in the season, Courtney Mitchell is one of the first players off the VSU bench for head coach Kiley Hill.

Mitchell led the Lady Blazers in scoring with 11 points against Armstrong Atlantic and she had 10 points in a win over Flagler last week.

The VSU women are 12-4 and 2-0 in the Gulf South Conference and Courtney Mitchell is very glad in helping her team any way she can.

Courtney Mitchell said. "I was hoping to and it is exciting to be part of the team and just do what you can to help the team win."

The Lady Blazers host North Alabama on Saturday.
