VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Three men and one woman were at home when two armed men forced their way in. It happened around 12:30 on Thursday afternoon at Valdosta's Spanish Mission apartments.

Both suspects are described as black males.  One was armed with a gun, and the other had a knife.  A man in the apartment was injured by the burglars, and was briefly hospitalized at South Georgia Medical Center.  The only woman was sexually assaulted.  She did not require hospitalization.

The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of items from the apartment. They then loaded these items into one of the victim's care and took off with the vehicle.  That car was found later Thursday afternoon, in the 400 block of Moody Drive, just over a mile from the scene of the crime.

The victims were able to provide enough information to come up with a composite sketch of the suspect who had a gun. Police hope someone will recognize the face and contact them.

Other Spanish Mission residents are shocked by the crime.  Chris Matthews, a Senior at Valdosta State says, "I have a lot of friends in here who are girls, and their safety is now probably more of a concern."

The Valdosta Police say anyone with information should contact their local law enforcement agency. "Do not approach them. These men were armed, so you cannot take any chances," says Lt. Bobbi McGraw.

Police remind everyone to stay cautious--no matter how safe we feel in our surroundings.
