ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The hottest team in the area is the Albany High Squaws.

The Albany High girls have won 13 straight games since opening the season with a loss to region 1-AAA leader Doughier.

The success is just what head coach Telly Turner envisioned when she came to Albany High from Screen County five years ago.

Turner inherited an Albany High team that was coming off a winless season.

Now, the Squaws have their sights on a region title and maybe state championship.

Turner keeps warning her players they still have plenty of work to do to reach those goals.

Telly Turner said. "We haven't achieved any of those goals yet. We are working hard every day in practice. Every game we play with the intentions of actually winning the region and advancing into the state playoffs."

Albany High hosts Cook on Friday and faces a big region game Saturday night at Early County.
