Cook County, GA (WALB) -

You can see wild vultures in migration at Reed Bingham State Park, Saturday.  The park will host its annual Buzzard Day Festival from 9 am until sunset.

The festival includes a 10-K run, boat rides to give you an up-close view of the birds, and even a sunset lesson on astronomy.

"This is our annual festival, and we celebrate the buzzards.  Now, the buzzards that we call buzzards are actually vultures, and we try to educate the public on that fact," says Interpretive Ranger Jennifer Glover.  "We have all kinds of of activities during the day. We're going to have a Road-Kill Run, which is a 10-K run or a 5-K walk, a canoe trip, there's a race for the little ones later on in the day.  Chehaw will actually be bringing their birds out at 1:30 for us to view."

Spots for the race and the boat rides are limited. You can pre-register by calling 229-896-3551.
