GSW stuns Clayton State

MORROW, GA (WALB) - Georgia Southwestern got a three-point basket from Sedale McGee-Jones with five seconds to play to upset Clayton State 85-83 in overtime Wednesday night in Morrow.

The Lakers were ranked as high as 16th in the nation last week.

Mcgee-Jones finished with 14 points.

He was one of four Hurricanes in double figures.

Senior Anthony Sargent led GSW with 21 points.

Sargent had 16 points in the first half.

Chris Rawls scored 17 and Marcus Scott had 16 points for the Hurricanes.

GSW is 6-7, 2-4 and at home for seven of their next eight games starting Saturday afternoon against UNC-Pembroke.

The Georgia Southwestern Lady Hurricanes continue their quest for their first Peach Belt Conference victory after a 90-60 loss at Clayton State Wednesday night.

Nikkisha Pritchett and Brittany Hall combined for 37 points off the Lady Laker bench.

Georgia Southwestern got 10 points and 17 rebounds from Whitley Wiltz and 14 points from Nadirah Gardner.

The Lady Canes are 5-8 and 0-6 in Peach Belt play.

The GSW men are in overtime with Clayton State.
