VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
A Valdosta waitress was arrested for stealing a customer's credit card information and running up more than one thousand dollars on his card.
Police say Tamra Williams, a waitress at Applebee's, and her friend Destiny Barron have confessed to stealing the man's credit card information. Police say it happened when he used his card at the Applebee's on Inner Perimeter Road December 13th.
Commander Eugene Bell of the Valdosta Police Department says, "We learned that one of the waitresses there had actually taken his credit card number and then started using it along with one of her friends. They went on somewhat of a shopping spree. The victim was pretty good because he was able to remember part of the name of the waitress who had actually helped him."
Now police are investigating whether any other customer's were ripped off. Customers are encouraged to review their credit card statements.
