January 14, 2008 ALBANY, GA (WALB) -Scandal in the Albany Police Department,  two officers are suspended as part of an investigation into prostitution.

Corporal David Stokes and Corporal Bert Jones are suspended with pay for improper conduct. While the police department won't talk about the nature of the investigation, WALB News 10 has learned it centers around activity with prostitutes.

The 31-year old Stokes has been with the Albany Police Department since September 2004 and is currently assigned to the Investigations Division.

The 33 year old Jones, has with APD since January 2002 and is assigned to the Special Operations Unit.

This is not the first time an Albany Police Officer has been accused of hiring prostitutes. Last year, 37-year-old Sergeant Derrick Cade pleaded guilty to picking up a prostitute while in a police car. He resigned and was sentenced to 12 months probation.

No criminal charges have been filed against the two officers currently under investigation.
