ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Surgical tech students at Albany Tech are considered some of the best in the country. When students graduate from the Surgical Technology program at Albany Tech, they are ready to walk straight into the work force.

Students ranked 13th in the nation on the Performance Assessment Exam last year. That's a tool that helps instructors know how much their students retain from the program.  It also helps them know if students are ready for their national boards.

"Our students are very driven, very educated. We feel like we are preparing them to take their tests and certifications. We've had 100% pass rate on our certification the last two times in spring quarter and in fall quarter," said Surgical Tech Chairperson Lori Day.

This is the second year in a row Albany Tech students placed within the top twenty programs in the country.
