ATHENS, GA (WALB) - Georgia lost their top two offensive stars with Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno leaving early for the NFL.
The Bulldog defense took a hit Tuesday with cornerback Asher Allen announcing he is skipping his senior season for the NFL.
Allen says it was a difficult decision but it was best for his family that he declared for the draft with one year of college eligibility remaining.
Allen would not say where the NFL advisory committee projects he will be selected in April.
One draft analyst believes Allen could go as high as the second round.
Asher Allen has been a two year starter at cornerback for Georgia.
He had three interceptions as a sophomore but none this past season. One reason why is that mean teams did not throw the football his way.
Juniors and three year sophomores have until January 15th to decide whether they are entering the NFL draft or staying in school.
