ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Dougherty County Clerk of Courts shut down her County Web site Tuesday after numerous complaints about personal information on the site.

In an exclusive report Monday night, WALB News Ten told you that some people were concerned about the threat of Identity Theft from the County website.

When a line of people showed up Tuesday morning asking that their information be taken off the site, Clerk of Courts Evonne Mull shut it down for good.

As we showed you Monday, there were Social Security Numbers and Dates of Birth on public records from criminal or civil complaints

Mull started the site to make it easier for attorneys and the public to access public information. Her office cannot alter court records. They did offer to block personal information online for anyone who made that request at the office.

Tuesday, Mull decided to pull all documents from civil and criminal proceedings off the Internet. Real estate dealings will continue to available on the web.

You can still see the public files in person at the Clerk of Courts office.
