ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Baseball may be the furtherest thing from of most of our minds on this cold January day.
Over at Darton College, the countdown to the start of the 2009 season is less than three weeks away.
The Darton baseball team returned to the practice field for the first time in the spring semester over the weekend.
The Cavaliers will have an experienced lineup this spring.
What head coach Glenn Eames likes the most about his team is that many of those experienced players have winning backgrounds.
"The big thing is that we've got a lot of kids out here that have won previously in high school or summer league ball or whatever and you know that's kind of the talk amongst them. They really want to bring this championship to Darton this year" said Eames.
Darton opens the 2009 season January 30th against Chipola in Marianna Florida.
