Red Cross headed for Louisiana

October 9, 2002

ALBANY- Six Albany volunteers are headed for Louisiana to help with hurricane recovery efforts.

The Red Cross's Emergency Response Vehicle pulled out this afternoon bound for Saint Rose, a suburb of New Orleans that got more than ten inches of rain from Lili last week. Most of the volunteers just returned from Donalsonville last weekend.

Johnny Crump, a Red Cross volunteer, said, "I look forward to it because they need our help, if you've ever been in a flood you don't want it to happen to you.

They'll be gone for three weeks, passing out snacks to emergency workers and people displaced from their homes.
