VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Police have released the identity of the woman who crashed her minivan into Valdosta City Hall on Thursday.   Police say a medical condition caused 30 year old Stephanie Maine to lose control of her van and crash into the steps of city hall.

A witness says she was unconscious for several minutes. Maine is hospitalized at South Georgia Medical Center.

Lt. Bobbi McGraw of the Valdosta Police Department tells us, "We had a Valdosta resident who was in her Kia Sedona. She was traveling east-bound on Valley Street. She went to make the turn to go south on Lee Street at which time her vehicle kept turning and she actually turned in to City Hall and struck the building. She did have what appeared to be a medical issue and that was the reason for the wreck."

Police say it appears the wreck was a complete accident. Maine is expected to make a full recovery.
