Lee County-- Some Lee County second graders escaped from a smokey house this morning. This house was not really on fire, but it gave the kids a chance to practice their safety skills.

These second graders at Kinchafoonee Elementary School took turns inside the fire house. They were instructed how to safely escape a smokey situation.

Second grader Jockey Thomas says, "I like the smoke, it was kinda cool." Lee County Firefighter Bobby Spence says, "This is an excellent tool. In the past we just used visual tools now we can actually show them."

It's Fire Safety Week, and all kindergarten, first and second graders in Lee County will go through the fire house. The fire house was borrowed from the Albany fire department.
