ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The AF2 season is right around the corner and Rodney Blackshear is playing catchup as he fills the roster for his South Georgia Wildcats.
After taking over for the departed Derek Stingley, Blackshear has had less time to do more in terms of filling the Wildcat roster. Many AF2 teams are completing their rosters, meanwhile the Wildcats are just beginning to fill their roster.
Despite having to play catch up Blackshear is confident that his team will be able to compete come March.
"Getting a late start hurts but at the same time the AFL folded, NFL Europe is no longer around. There's a lot of talent out there you just have to go out and find it" said Blackshear.
The Wildcats will hold open tryouts Saturday at noon at the Albany State practice field. South Georgia opens the 2009 season March 21st on the road against Florida.Feedback
