ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A multi-state theft investigation has led to the arrest of a two South Georgians.

Mark Hudson of Newton and Donna King of Valdosta are accused of stealing seven thousand dollars worth of merchandise from a Walmart in Lake City, Florida.  Investigators believe they are part of a multi-state ring that stole up to $100,000 worth of goods.

Investigators say Hudson and King went into stores separately, she would stuff items into a beach bag, then they would walk out together. Investigators say Hudson distracted store security while King got away.

Police say they were part of 10, two-person teams that stole from Walmart stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Seven more arrests have been made in Georgia and tens of thousands of dollars worth of goods recovered from several warehouses.
